Denali Trekking Company offers three levels of intensity, as outlined
below, for exploring some of Alaska's most magnificent alpine backcountry.
Every one of our trips begins with an orientation at our home and base
of operations. We go over everyone's equipment and discuss our policies
of "No Trace Camping", safety in the field, bear encounter procedures,
etc. Questions are encouraged and none left unanswered. You'll get acquainted
with your guide and he'll work with you in preparing for the trip. After
packing, we head to the lake and fly out to any one of our destination
lakes sitting high in the
mountains, well above timberline. Tents are pitched, camp arranged and
a quick romp to the nearest viewing knob start day one of your adventure.
Regardless of which level
of intensity you opt for, everyone returns
exhilarated!

This trek is the quintessential Alaskan backcountry
odyssey, designed and catered to the self-propelled
adventurer. This trek is up to 35 miles in length and
traverses some of the most spectacular country in wild
Alaska. All of these treks in very remote country where the
only trail is the one you just made. At the end of this trek
you'll be rewarded with the pride of accomplishment, a
renewed appreciation for our natural world and certainly,
lasting impressions of excitement, beauty and newly formed
friendships.
Five
Day Trip:
Cost: $999.00
Geared for folks that are looking for a longer stay and a little more challenging adventure. This trip can also be designed to combine a base camp style with a possible condensed cross-country traverse to end the trip with a pick up at a different lake. Opportunities increase for getting excellent photographs as well as seeing more wildlife, tundra nesting birds and capturing that elusive "once-in-a-lifetime" frame. Walking in the tundra and exploring with keen eyes will reveal a rich and exciting habitat.
Three
Day Trip:
Cost: $699.00
Our camps are set up with large tents and comfort is
given a share of priority but practicality plays the lead
role. This camp provides a home base for our day hiking and
exploration of the immediate country. Each day we will leave
camp traveling light, carrying only water bottle, extra
clothes, camera, and maybe binoculars. A lot of country can
be looked at but you will see how much can be absorbed by a
slow walk. The alpine tundra is quite beautiful. Views from
the high country are nothing short of spectacular!
There is an additional
fee of $150.00 for Air-Taxi flights made during your
trip

PLEASE NOTE
The terrain can be challenging for the novice hiker but
routes are selected that are in everyone's ability to not
only complete but have a great time doing it. We have had
hikers that ranged in age from 12 to 70 years young. Every
backcountry traveler should be prepared for inclement
weather conditions (remember, it's high country Alaska!). We
send out complete equipment lists upon trip confirmation and
remain in close contact prior to your arrival in Alaska. We
discuss, in detail, each trip and answer every question you
may have before you even make your reservation.
On our seven day treks,
our guests are expected to carry a pack that may weigh up to
50 pounds or more, depending on what you choose to bring. We
examine each person's gear before we depart on any of our
trips. High quality equipment is essential! There are stores
in Talkeetna where some gear items can be purchased. All
tents, cooking equipment including stoves, fuel, pots &
pans and all food will be provided for by Denali Trekking
Company. We offer very savory and nutritious meals and can
accommodate almost anyone's dietary needs. Each trip is
fully guided by one of our very experienced and
knowledgeable staff. Other than the seven day treks, all
trip dates are customized to suit your individual
schedule.
