Alpine Fishing...Nomad Style

After a magnificent flight, escalating through the lower riparian zones and then leaving the trees behind, you’ll land on the banks of a gem of a pond, way above timber line on the alpine plateau. You’ll probably hook your first tail-walker before the engine cowl stops crackling.

After a few casts you pack up your gear and set off on a wild journey. You head west an hour and the very next lake will thrill you with hits on anything you put in the water. We usually camp there and then fish this lake and the world class stream it dumps into the next day. You can decide to go up or down stream. The fishing can be nothing short of spectacular.

You’ll have the opportunity to fish both lakes and creeks and get in some fantastic alpine hiking. Options are to stay in the vicinity for four days and get flown back to town or take a PackRaft and hike to a river and float back. You could also fish and hike your way to the tracks and take the Alaska Railroad train back to Talkeetna!

Any one of these options will set the bar high for all of your future adventure travel experiences. Give us a call and we can talk about the possibilities. They are many. We score excellent marks in designing custom adventure trips.
